I just really need to vent out some anger, so if you do not want to wast your time, go ahead and click outta here.So I'm sitting in my room playing videogames with some friends, and i'm playing with a buddy mine, a ''friendly'' game of NBA 2K8. I am completely trashing his team. Out of frustration, he rips off the battery pack from my controller, pulls the charge cable off, and throws my controller on the floor. So im obviously pretty furious, but not too mad because i know my controller looked fine. I turn off the system, turn it on, and then BAM! Three....red...lights....Freaked out, I jump up, turn my system on, then turn it on again. No red lights. Phew! What a close call. We continue to just mess around with some arcade games, when my 360 decides to freeze. I thought to myself...thats odd, that must be the first time it ever froze. So after that we decided to watch Jumper down in the living room. Which must be the worst possible movie to come out this year ( A rock shows better emotion than Hayden Christiansen.) Movie ends, friends leave, and I decide to check out whats new in the marketplace. I push the button, and there they are once again, but this time permanently. The three red lights.I call my friend, and he denies the whole thing. He doesn't deny what he did, but he denies that his actions could not have been the cause. I want to believe him, but why is it that my 360 has been working flawlessly, but after what he did, I just happened to get the three red lights right after. My 360 freezes, then I get the error again. It may just be a huge coincidence, but one things is for sure, it is a really crappy situation.Oh well...on the brightside, I happened to receive a PS3 from my dad who won it at work. I'v been dying to play MGS4, so at least I can get through that while my 360 is being repaired. If you actually bothered to read all this, then I'm sorry that you probably wasted your time. If your mad...well no one put a gun to your head and forced you. Just be glad you don't have the three red lights, because before all this even I believed that I was immune. All I can say is wow.....wow
That's sucks. Having the three red lights is a bummer, but I had the same thing kind of except it had one red ring and it kept shutting off on me every ten minutes. What's worse it was out of warranty D: All I can say is wow.....wow
Your console was set on an hardware failure regardless of what happened. This dang design flaw is such a pain, believe me I know as I've had 4 myself. Well, from what I've heard, at least the Repair Center is working much quicker these days as with all 4 of mine it took a month to get it back.
Yeah that's what I found out when I called them up to send my Xbox in.
I feel your pain as mine is also broken. But don't hate your friend, remember, 'Love Thy Neighbor!' ;)
Well check this for 360 reliablity, at least you actually had some use out of it. When I BOUGHT (I repeat) BOUGHT my 3rd (I REPEAT) 3rd Xbox 360, It had the 3 red lights fresh out of the box - It was as good as new (so they said)
Just make sure they fix your console and don't just send you a refurbished one. Twice they sent me a refurbished console %26 neither of them made it longer than 3 months.
damn man that sucks i doubt that your friend had anything to do with it, it was probobly just a coincidence, just bad luck, well i hope you have good luck with your next 360.
damn man that sucks i doubt that your friend had anything to do with it, it was probobly just a coincidence, just bad luck, well i hope you have good luck with your next 360.
really?
Oof... That really sucks... I don't think that your friend throwing the controller on the ground would give you the 3 red rings. If he took out the battery pack and cable, that would mean that the controller was off when he threw, it, so it really couldn't have done anything. But, I guess everything turned out OK, since you still have some warrenty left and your dad won a PS3.
i seriously doubt that he caused it. that happened to me this morning, and all i did was play graw. its really just a random thing, and if your 360s time is up, then theres nothing you can do about it.
I highly doubt your friend caused or contributed to the RROD. But it was really nice how you kept your cool after your friend threw the controller on the floor. That's just rude! The 360 was a design failure so I think it was just your time. Just like you, I want to think that I'm immune to the RROD but my time will come, I guess. So far, so good. I had an arcade version, upgraded to premium status and it worked perfectly fine. I sold it, and I upgraded to an Elite and it's still working beautifully until this day. Dont get me wrong, I dont have all the luck. My PS3 failed on me, only two weeks in. So, if it's not your arm, it's your leg, if it's not your PS3, it's your Xbox 360. If it's not a huge car accident, it's money out of your pocket. Life has many ways of expressing itself. You're going to be okay. I find it best to find something else to do like play another system or perhaps work on other hobbies. You'll have your 360 back in a jippy.
I don't think that slamming the controller on the ground, especially if it's been unplugged from the system, would cause the RROD, but I do find it strange that yours died almost the same way mine did, at least I think.I was charging my controller and once it was finished I unplugged the USB cable from the front ports. As soon as I did that the system turned off, rebooted, then BAM! RROD. I'm not sure if that's what caused it (maybe it was some kind of short, who knows), but that's a pretty strange coincidence.
Thats probably pure coincidence because I don't think what your friend did could have caused RRoD. Don't hate your friend for this because he is probably not to blame.
You got a free PS3? Lucky.
budy Im on my 7th xbox how do you think I have felt?
arg! Lucky you. Haha. I have the same madness in a simple game of soccer at ps2. My friend introduce winning eleven 7,8,9, to me and then I start playing it with him every once in a while. Then when I loose alot I get this madness comes out. He owns me, he know every move, every part to the game. Well I start learning. Then a few years later I got a little better, but not alot. I was owning in one match with Itlay. I love Itlay. Well anwyays that's my story to sports game. My other story is that whenever I got a ring of death on the xbox360. I took it to repairing center and they replace a new one for me. The reason how I tell is that I got guitar hero stickers on my xbox360 then when I got it back its brand new. My stickers are gone. I was like sweet another xbox360.
Unlucky mate, have fun with MGS4 till you get your 360 back ;)
your friend probably had nothing to do with it, it was just major coincidence
Even if you broke your controller to peices it would not have caused the RROD. It was completlely random.
