Xbox 360's integrated motion sensor?

Ok, so I recently moved everything around in my room and I had to put my Xbox lying down instead of standing up straight. Then I noticed that it somehow knows what position its in because it shifts the green light on the ring for first player to be the top right section of the ring, no matter how its positioned.

I don't know if this is old or something i just missed before. So if anyone has anything on this, or can tell me whats in it that lets it know.Xbox 360's integrated motion sensor?

Maybe because motion sensing controls are the last thing this console need (don't get me wrong I've got nothing against it i just don't care if it has it or not) and that it is the little things that takes a console from being good to being Great.

They all do it were have you been.It does this so you know what play/controller is what.

And yes, they do that for convenience and so that one orientation wouldn't get labeled ''more proper'' than the other orientation.
Its just a cool feature that M$ added to make the ring of light look right either you have it vertical or horizontal. Its kinda like the ps2 had that little ps logo you could turn so it would be up right if you had your console vertical. But M$ solution was a little more hightech :P
