This is why we pay for live. STOP COMPLA ...

OK so i never had a problem paying for my live membership, but i got a PS3 recently and i hooked it up with the built in WIFI with my router easily. So since i didn't need an adapter i liked that and things like getting to use almost any bluetooth headset.Well i connected to online and saw they have something like the dashboard on PS3, as well as PS store which is like XBLM. So it was pretty much the same as LIVE to me, i had my friends list and everything else, even could go on the internet browser free.I didn't have any games to play and then i got MGS4, i played it and it was an amazing single player game, after hours of trying to set up a name for MGO i was finally successful and able to play on there. That was not nearly as easy as putting in any disc i'd like and maybe hit accept on some terms and conditions to play online on live. I'd rather pay $50 than to have to go through with that for every game i wanted to play online. On top of that it's not nearly as good as 360 because there is things like lag and hardly anything you can do besides play online. You have to connect the bluetooth at the ''dashboard'' everytime you start the system. You can't chat with friends while in a game, can't send messages or invites to games. You can't play music while gaming. The headset is a lot easier to connect and use and so are all online games. You also get your gamer profile and gamercard which shows a lot and your gamertag is the same for everygame. You also get achievements which are a lot of fun and an XBLM which updates XBLA games every wednesday and adds tv shows and movies every week for download. PS3 is soon to have video downloads but most likely not tv shows and i thought they released their classic PSone games for download every week, but they don't and rarely even do.There's also a lot more people playing 360 online and with a headset on 360 since it comes with one. Also theres no PS3 game that is better to play online than a 360 game. Now that i have both systems and can directly compare, there is no competition for 360 with it's XBOX LIVE...not till others start charging.Look if you would buy a game for your PS3 over buying it for 360 because your looking to play the game online for a year and thats it and don't want to spend 50 on a membership. Your a fool and the online play will not last for you on that system, not yet. This is why we pay for live. STOP COMPLA ...
u do know bout 2.4? right.... well the broken 2.4This is why we pay for live. STOP COMPLA ...
umm yes i have ps3 so i know exactly what it is. Do you know about it? or just read what some other people have said and you think you know? Because if you know what it is and used it there would be no reason for your reply. The update adds nothing except for trophies which don't work for everygame, pretty much because they don't charge the subscription fee. So trophies are not nearly as good as achievements. The only other thing it added is you can see your friends list and can read messages, as well as make a short profile for yourself. You cannot send messages or go in a chat while in a game or play music while in a game. There's really nothing you can do that helps your online experience with that update. It does nothing and comes nowhere near live with that update...it did nothing! so why would you even mention it?
dude i have a pswii60 and im here to say that MGS4 is the only game that has a retarded process like that, i agree it takes way to long to set up. but games like warhawk, call of duty 4, resistance, unreal, and GTA4 all on PS3 work just aswell as the 3-6 its just that there arnt as many people online. considering this though i have never had to wait for a match in any of those games. its always pretty much instant unless its like 4am it might be a tad slower. and i have only been D/C once on the PS3 network which is the same number of times i have been on my 360, + wired connection is faster, hook them both up wired and its pretty muh the same.
I'd rather pay $50 a year for a system where Microsoft sets up the severs so nearly every developer can choose to include an online mode if they want to instead of investing thousands of dollars setting up their own servers.

WHY!!!! i agree xbox live is better
MGS4 is the only game with that stupid sign up service, all others are just straight in onto the mutliplayer. And 2.4, whilst hardly the messiah it was made out to be did far more than 'nothing'
JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!! Will you guys drop this crap already?! TC, Let this topic die already. Can't you guys be more original with your topics rather than recycling old ones every or every other day?

yea they charge for qore and that money will only benefit qore users and hurt the regular user as the paid users get things early or exclusive things...PS3 has updates to fix it? lol ok.....well they need to work on a big update.and to the guy who said the 2.4 update did far more than nothing. Far more? NO!!! they put it so you can hit the middle button like on 360 to pop up the little guide and than you can't use any of the things just look at them unless if you quit out of the game and go to the main screen like the dashboard. The only new thing is that in the game you can check your trophies, friends gamer profiles, and messages. You can't send any invites, chats, messages in the game so it's a pointless update. If they wanted to make it a good update they wouldn't show you the features that you can't even use in the game thats just stupid and puts unnecessary things there. They shouldve updated it to show trophies and a friends list thats it, then it prob would've been better. Still doesnt compare with live.
It's $0.14 cents a day !!! I can find that and then some under the cushions of my couch !!!Cost more to sponsor a kid in a 3rd world country !!!

Isn't it more frustrating that the in-game music and trophies only exist for use at the developers discretion?

Well, I was one of those guys who said Live should be free. I thought aftrer the PS3 got there update it would make Microsoft lower the price, but to my surprise they failed. Now I, have to say that Live should not be free. Now I have to change my Live sig from '' Live should be free'' to ''Live is fine the way it is.''
