HELP!! can't party up in xbox live

I am trying to party up with my friend in halo 3 and it isnt working. Everytime I try to join his party, I get an error that says connection timed out. When he trys to connect to my party it gives him an error message that says incompatible nat settings. Both of our nat settings are open. We also have tried it on other games like forza 2 and no luck there either. We used to be able to party up like a week ago now we can't and we didnt change any router settings. I also have tried connecting my xbox dirrectly into the cable modem and we still got the same errors. This has been going on for a few days now.

Xbox live has quarantined you, you must have an S.T.I.
it may be ur nat settings,i want you to do a run on ur xbl connection and see if it says open,if so i dunno what to say.if so,simply google up open nat settings xbox live

Your not alone, i've heard of this happening to a few other people, but unfortunately i haven't read of a fix yet. Maybe call up MS?
Happened to me often, even with people I play all the time with. For a couple days/weeks I would have problems, we both would do nothing and one day everything would be fine. Never did know what kept causing it to do that.
I play perfectly fine with my NAT closed.
it really frustrating when i pay for something like xbox live and i can't even do what they offer
Come on someone has to at least have an idea of why it isnt working
It might have something to do with your router. Look at your routers web site and try to find similar problems. Also try to call them and see if they can help you. If that does not work, then try to look on the xbox fourms to see if the same router/ISP/modem, are having the same problem. Hope that helped :)
