ME ally achievement question [spoilers]

is it possible to get the ally achievement for both ashley and kaidan before the mission where you have to choose whether ashley or kaidan stays behind?ME ally achievement question [spoilers]
Yes, I did it once for both of them at the same time. I forget when it kicked in but it was before I landed on Virmire. I think I did just about every sidequest available up until then.ME ally achievement question [spoilers]
It's definitely possible, but I wouldn't try it. On my first playthrough (I had no idea I had to choose one of them to die) I tried getting it but I failed getting either achievements.I got them in this order:Kaiden/WrexAshley/GarrusTali/Liara

Much like the Completionist achievement the ally achievements don't always work. I would suggest not investing time with either Ashley or Kaiden because of the off-chance that you wasted time without getting the achievements.I systematically researched everything I came across and did all but three quests and from the moment Garrus and Wrex joined my squad they were the only two characters I played with for the entire game. I did not get either of the ally achievements or the Completionist achievement. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off.

I think to get the both achievements before you choose which one to die is to do Virmire last.
