Transfer of Game Data from Harddrive to ...

Hi, this is my first post, I really hope someone can help me.Right, my son has an xbox 360. On this machine there are 3 gamertags, LYALL999UK and Howard, the third is called Lyall I think but I have never used this one so I don;t think it matters. I have used both LYALL999UK and Howard (my husband) to play on Guitar Hero and Rock Band and have progressed quite far into the games.Now, the other day, I gained my brother's old xbox and a 64mb memory card. He bought himself an elite as his old one had the 'ring of death.' I have fixed this with my own little fingers - very pleased with that! I transferred everything that was on my brother's memory card onto his new hard drive. So I now have my own xbox!!! Now obviously I would like to continue my progress with my two favourite games on my own console, whilst leaving my son with all the data he needs on his hard drive so he can continue with all his games. Transferring everything off my brother's memory card and onto his new hard drive was no problem at all. Then I came home and tried transferring everything that looks relevant from my son's hard drive onto the memory card. I thought I had moved everything to do with each game (except downloads of course, no chance of those with 64mb) but when I plugged it into mine, and started the games, there is nothing. No previously created bands, no record or anything. I think it has something to do with gamertags or gamer profiles, or sign-ins but I don't know anything for sure. At this point I am lost. Thanks for your response.But everything seemed to transfer ok from the memory card onto my brother's hard drive. At least I hope it did!!!Anyone else got any advice, ideas?ThanksPitstop
You need to transfer the gamertag associated with the saves you want to use over to your 360 as well.



If you go to the system blade on your 360 > Memory > Games > Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) you'll see what gamertag is associated with the saves you transferred.



I'm pretty sure once you transfer the gamertag over you'll have access to your saves again. If I'm wrong someone will correct me hopefully.
The only game I know where you can put a uptodate save on the MU is two worlds. Sorry mate.

I had hoped there would be a copy option but it only gives a move option. I did think of this though, and so moved the Howard tag, as I have some data (a solo career) under that. I then signed in as howard, on my console but there was still nothing there.Anything I might have missed?ThanksPitstop
