Health vs Regneration

Which do you prefer in your game of preference?Health vs Regneration
depends the type of game. In shooters, regeneration. RPGs and Action/Adventure health is usually better.Health vs Regneration
I think health bars on a first person shooter. is down right stupid. on a rpg yeah, now that's good.
I'm going to assume your talking about shooters. But definately regeneration. I don't think i could ever go back to hunting for health packs.

Health Packs were good for older FPS's like the Half-Life series, but ever since Halo and the introduction of Regeneration it's adapted to almost every game now and makes the game play more fluidly. The thing that makes it great is every game does it different; cover, stay out of action, injecting adrenaline to stay alive so it changes up the gameplay to make it more interesting.

lol i remember them health pack hunts. your about to get owned. only thing there is to do is, look for some damn health packs.
I'm going to assume your talking about shooters. But definately regeneration. I like regeneration, but with a health bar. Ninja Gaiden 2 and Medal of Honor: Airborne are my favorite examples of this. Yes, you can regenerate from a few blows, but if you get hit with a rocket or something, it should carry some lasting damage. That damage can then be removed at the end of a level. It doesn't restrain you like a permanent health meter does, but it keeps realism. For multiplayer military games however, I feel it should be one-shot kill like Red Orchestra/Day of Defeat/Call of Duty 4 Hardcore. I hate having to empty two clips into someone in Halo, only for them to run away and hide for one second and get their health back.
Recharging, all the way. I wonder how many hours I've spent in shooters going back in a level, hunting for health kits. Thank Christ for Halo: Combat Evolved and recharging health.
In the new shooters Regeneration. Only because in BF:BC I'll be stuck looking at a red tented screen for like 30mins before I die or get health. It's annoying and gives me a head ache.
I think regeneration is better but makes games way too easy. I mean, how much harder would Mile High Club be if your health couldn't regenerate?
I like a mix in shooters.ect. megaman 64, condemned 2, where you have a health meter, and if you take minimal damage it will heal, but heavy will result in you not healing.I really like the Rainbow Six meter, basically, your screen blacking out, like your character is actually losing conciousness
Neither. Don't get shot.Tom Clancy games get it right. (And no, not the arcade console version.)
same here.
I'm going to assume your talking about shooters. But definately regeneration. I don't think i could ever go back to hunting for health packs.
realistic/tactical games should have health(like graw)gears and what not, should definitely have regenerationi think it all depends on what type of game it is
One thing though, i think the RE series should stay with health bars.
One thing though, i think the RE series should stay with health bars.
That's really the only thing left from the Resident Evil series. No zombies, no great backstories, no ammo scavenging.
I like regeneration in shooters, and health bars is good in a RPG, with Team Fortress 2 as an exception(it has health bars).
Regeneration beats the crap out of health packs IMO
