When did microsoft start using the falcon chip in the xbox 360's? was it after they included the hdmi port in the premiums?? and if i don't have a falcon chip, and i keep it away from walls, and everthing else, and buy a fan for it will it still overheat?:?Falcon Chip.
My old ass October 2006 model dosen't overheat until after 15 or 16 hours, and remeber the system IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOT. All next gen systems are like space heaters, don't freak its totally normalFalcon Chip.
Falcon chip was only for the CPU, not the GPU, the most common source of RRoD. To answer your question, yes, it will still overheat.
but if you keep an old model away from walls and junk, will it still overheat inevitably?
You will get the RRoD inevitably. The GPU will eventually become detached from the motherboard. The heat that the system creates will eventually cause the GPU chip to become detached. ie.. the heatsinks will break, etc....
idk... you seem like some sort of fanboy... i'm not real sure i can trust your opinion... Can I?
How do we know your not a Fanboy? Whatever, check page 114 on the Broken 360 discussion and information thread on the main 360 forum page. You will see my input on tracking my 360. I took great care of it, wide open space, elevated so that air could get around it, etc.. Your best bet will be to wait till this September/October for the new 360's with the 65nm chipsets for both CPU and GPU.
With the Falcon, you just have a lowered chance of RRoD, doesn't mean your guaranteed not to get it.
Forgot to mention that all consoles with a manufacturing date past August 07 should have a Falcon.
So were fanboys? Please then get RRODIn fact, why even get a 360?
not you dukenukem... just the other guy... he sounds like he had a bad experience with Microsoft.
